Genevieve

Hello Lovelies!

I bought a plant yesterday. I named her Genevieve.

Genevieve is going to live on my bookshelf (you will see her there when I do my 'Preparing for School: Bookshelf" post).

She will not be lonely, I've got someone bringing me back a bit of a cactus from where they're vacationing who will be named Milo. So it will be Genevieve and Milo taking up residence on my bookshelf.

Preparing for School: Closet

Hello Lovelies!

As everyone probably already knows, the new school year is approaching...and for some of you it probably already has. I'm starting school the day after Labour Day (my first day is the 8th) and I'm feeling a little stressed out.

For me, school is one big building of anxiety...there's a lot of people, it's always crowded, classes are stressful (because of people and homework), and really all I want to do is curl up in a ball under my covers and not emerge until winter and/or summer holidays. But I can't do that. Instead I focus on ways that I can make the school year I bit more bearable...and for me that's organizing and planning.

Today I'm focusing on my closet.

Personally, I know that when I feel stressed out my head starts getting all cluttered. So to limit that I've decided to de-clutter the space around me, so that when that feeling does start to happen I know that it will all be internal and not from the space around me. I think it might be easier to deal with it then.

So I'm going to de-clutter my closet (let's be honest, that's the messiest part of anyone's room). Now, my closet is pretty organized, I've recently cleaned it, but the one thing that's been bothering me for a few years now is how the hangers don't all match. To a lot of you that probably sounds a bit irrelevant for school, but I imagine that some of you will know where I'm coming from. As I've mentioned before, I think my brain is going to feel less busy if the area around me is as organized as can be.

Today I went out to Winners and I bought 35 non-slip hangers (I really hope it's going to be enough...I've got no idea how much clothes are hanging up) and I'm going to re-hang all of the clothes that are already in my closet.

This is going to be my first step in preparing for the stressful pool that is school.

Honest to God, I did not mean for that to rhyme.

Dolce Vita Coffee Art

Hello Lovelies!
On one of my expeditions to downtown Victoria a few days ago, I came across this café. I have been wanting to go into it for a while now because of the words 'coffee art' being in it's name (who wouldn't want a little picture on their $5 coffee drink?). As you can probably tell from the title, its called 'Dolce Vita Coffee Art'.
So I decided to go in and I ordered myself a pumpkin scone and a coconut mocha. Let me tell you, this coconut mocha was soooo good! And it had a little leaf on top of it which made me love it even more.
This may sound weird but I was quite into the cup as well. I mean I just really liked the shape of it and how it was a charcoal black colour.

(The above photo is probably the closest you will ever be getting to seeing my face)

All together that was an amazing little café, I will definitely be going back there and ordering more expensive coffee drinks...mostly for the sole purpose of taking pictures of the coffee art.

Goldstream Park Pictures

Hello Lovelies!

I work at Goldstream Provincial Park which is a nature park in British Columbia. It's gorgeous there, if you ever come to Victoria you have to take a look at it! Anyway, so I was on my break and I decided to take a few pictures. Now I am by no means a photographer, sometimes I like to pretend that I am but I'm only kidding myself.

If I get the chance to then I'll take more pictures at Goldstream in the fall with the leaves turning red and orange, and if I'm there early enough in the morning there may even be a bit of frost!

Macaroon Love

Hello Lovelies!

So if you couldn't tell from the title this is a post about macaroons. I really don't care how random that is but I just really wanted to share my love for macaroons.

A few days ago I went downtown and into one of my favourite shops of all time. Bon Macaroon. Yes, it is one of my favourites because it's dedicated solely towards macaroons.

I mean just look at their lovely macaroonynies. These ones are earl grey (blue), white chocolate and passion fruit (purple), tiramisu (white with black specks)(also the best flavour EVER!!!), pomegranate and orange (white with pink specks), raspberry coconut (reddish orange), and rose (pink).

This is the lovely box that they come in. I find the little macaroon so adorable with it's moustache and little hat.

I feel like I'm fangirling over this macaroon place and that's really sad.....

Anyway I finished the day off with a hot chocolate from a café called Macchiato, which is right beside Bon Macaroon.

Please expect more pictures of macaroons in the future, because if you couldn't tell already I'm freaking obsessed with them and I just need that love to be shared.

The First

Hello Lovelies!

As you can probably tell from the title this is my first post. I was trying to think of a way that I could make this without doing the normal, "Hi, this is my first post. Welcome to my blog!" But I could not. I tried to think of something creative and I just couldn't (in my defense it is rather late at night). So, this is my first post with all the awkwardness that comes with it.

I am going to keep this blog anonymous, so if you do decide to follow this then you can call me 'Penny'. As for blog content I don't really have an idea of the theme, or if there's going to be a theme, to be quite honest with you I sort of just want to post whatever whenever. So if that means making a post on nail polish one day, then the next making a post about downtown so be it. Posts will happen whenever inspiration hits, so to speak.

I sound so disorganized, don't I? I swear I'm not.

I'm not going to say anything about myself, for two reasons,
1) As I said above, I'm going to remain anonymous
2) I quite like finding out more about a person by reading through their posts rather than have them spit a bunch of facts at me right from the start.

To summarize, I don't have a theme or an idea of where I want to go with this, no update schedule, and you know absolutely nothing about me.

I don't blame you if you don't want to stick around.
